Spaghetti Bolognese comes in lots of variations, the recipe I am sharing is the base for you to build on. Like Onions and Mushrooms? Add them! Want to get more Veg into the kids, why not throw some grated Carrot and Zucchini in? Or you can leave it all out, you will still be left with one very tasty Bolognese sauce to top your Spaghetti that is food allergy friendly.
INGREDIENTS
500g Mince
2 TBS Crushed Garlic
1/4 CUP Olive Oil
4 Rashers Short Cut Bacon - Diced
1 CAN Diced Tomatoes
1 CUP Beef Stock
1/4 TSP All Purpose Spice
1 TBS Sugar
1 TBS Tomato Paste
Using a Wok or LARGE frying pan add Olive Oil, Garlic and Bacon to brown slightly before adding the Beef.
When the Beef has browned add the Canned Tomatoes, Beef Stock, All Purpose Spice, Sugar and Tomato Paste mixing it all in together.
It's then simply a matter of letting the sauce and mince simmer for about 20min, regularly giving it a little stir.
You will know its ready when the sauce has reduced and thickens.
Serve atop your choice of Spaghetti. We like THIS ONE best.
